Take a look at this quick start guide to designing your Facebook Fan Page, and feel free to pin it to your bookmarks where I’ve certainly found it most useful. It’s pretty hard when designing the layout of fanpages to make sure you retain all the alignment you had originally intended.

The guide shows in neat bubble captions the size required for uploading to facebook. You can download the template here if you want it and once you’ve finished your design, you’ll have to upscale each image to the minimum required dimensions for Facebook. The link takes you to a page where you can download the template if you choose, and even gives another hint on how to creat a live link right in your Facebook Fanpage Header.

Here are the sizes to upscale your facebook images to:

  • Cover Photo 851 pixelx x 315 pixels
  • Profile Photo (that’s the avatar which also appears smaller in the newsfeeds) 160 px  x 160 px
  • Tab Photos 112px x 75px

So, no need to refresh one’s memory on template and canvas sizes, dig around from previous works or setting about googling. Pin this to your website board and you’ll never have to do it again!
