Facebook Offers

Do you ever find it difficult to share discounts, specials, and other savings with your Facebook Fans?  Well now that Facebook Offers has been announced today at the fMC (Facebook Marketing Conference) you can now share these offers with ease and free of charge.  You can easily share an offer from your Facebook Page directly with Fans.  This is going to revolutionize the way that we use Facebook as businesses.  Before it was just crossing your fingers that your special messages or Facebook Offers showed up in your Fan’s News Feed, but now they will guarantee that it does.  Not much has been revealed thus far about Facebook Offers, but here is what we’ve found thus far.

Facebook Offers | ZDNet

Here’s what tech-blog ZDNet has to say about Facebook Offers:

First on the announcement list is Offers, “a free and easy way for businesses to share special discounts and promotions” that “let a business share a discount or promotion directly from a Facebook Page.” Secondly, the company announced new placements for premium advertising and Sponsored Stories: both can now appear on the Facebook logout Page and the mobile News Feed. In short, those ads in your News Feed are about to get a whole lot more encroaching.

So for the Facebook civilian, this doesn’t sound so good, however would you prefer to pay a premium for Facebook instead?

AllFacebook also released a short synopsis about Facebook Offers:

Offers are a free and easy way for businesses to share special discounts and promotions to their community through Facebook. Offers let a business share a discount or promotion directly from a Facebook page.

You see most of these articles don’t go into to detail about how Facebook Offers actually works, but I assume that you can share a post with those Fans that you feel need to see the particular offer that you’re promoting, but thats all just speculation.

Facebook Offers | What Other New Developments Are Conspiring?

So the fMC has released some other new developments for marketers besides Facebook Offers, and I’d like to explore those now.  This is a fun one as well, because its going to make advertisers present on all platforms.  You see as far as Facebook for smartphones is concerned, there wasn’t really any room for Facebook Pages and advertisements, until now.  UK Reuters reports on how happy business truly are in their up-to-the-minute Facebook advertising update:

“Mobile Facebook ads are huge. We’ll be all over this,” said Jason Goldberg, chief executive of online designer retailer Fab.com. “We’re already seeing more than 40 percent of our daily traffic to Fab from mobile. Being able to reach Facebook mobile users will only increase that.”

Facebook is vying with Google Inc, Yahoo Inc and other online publishers for a slice of the estimated $76 billion (47 billion pounds) that companies spend on U.S. television and magazine advertising each year, according to research firm eMarketer.
