Google+ Features

There are a lot of Google+ features out there that really can’t be ignored, no matter what you think of the new social media site.  Many critics claim that Google+ could never trump Facebook and take the number one spot.  While this may be true, its impact on search and business marketing cannot be ignored, its made by Google for god’s sakes.  Thats why we want to share some great Google+ features that can really help to amp up marketing for your business.

Google+ Features | Google+ Brand Pages

If you’re still waiting to start a Google+ brand page, then you shouldn’t wait any longer.  Take a look at the first 10 brands that started accounts on Twitter, they’re now the top Twitter brand pages out there with the largest number of followers.  A great resource for learning how to use Google+ Brand Pages is Mashable’s guide to Google+ Features and by the look of their brand page, they seem to have their heads in the right place.

Here’s proof from an Unbounce article on Google+ Features that waiting around to build your brand page isn’t a good choice:

Mashable’s roundup of the top ten Google+ brand pages is a good place to search for inspiration. If you’re not convinced of the importance of early adoption, the article points out that Coca-Cola, a brand with one of the largest Facebook followings, was slow to create its Google+ brand page. America’s favorite cola has since stepped up with its own brand page, but it lagged behind competitors in building an audience on Google+.

Google+ Ripples Feature

One of my favorite Google+ features for analytics is their Ripples feature.  Ripples maps out just who is sharing your content and who the influencers are.  Its most important to identify your influencers and then add them to your Circles and begin interacting with them.

Google+ Features | Other Features

Unbounce reveals some other great Google+ features and some not so great ones as well:

  • Quickly share your brand page with anyone in your network (including email contacts), even if they don’t have a Google+ account.
  • Code (to embed in your website) that connects your business website to your Google+ brand page, even including analytics illustrating the relationship between the two.
  • Creative kit to help you move photos and images from your profile to your brand page, so you can easily spice up your page.

Bummers:

  • Pages can’t add people until a person adds a page first.
  • Pages can’t share to extended circles.

Google+ Features | Recommended Links

This is an awesome Google+ feature that is a great way to get people from your Google+ Page to your websites landing page.  You can find the recommended links feature under the “About” tab allows you to add important links to useful pages on your webpage.

Google+ Features | Hangouts

I think this is one of my favorite Google+ features because it is so versatile.  Google+ Hangouts allows you to hold videoconferencing that is extremely helpful in communicating with other team members, even holding conferences with customers to address concerns with products or services, or holding workshops.  You can also see what users were present during a Hangout and follow up with them afterwards.

Google+ Features | You Gotta Promote

It can be a challenge to attract followers to your business page, because you can’t add people to your page without them first adding you.  However if you have a personal page you can add users to your circle and promote your page through your personal account.  However another good approach is to promote the hell out of your Google Plus Page on your other social media pages and your webpage itself.

We hope this helped you to uncover some new Google+ features for marketing your business, thanks for dropping by!
