Its the third stage of evolution for the internet, the social media phase, and if you want to increase your traffic to Facebook and other social media sites, you’ll need to play the game of hit and miss.  The good news, there are a lot of other businesses and marketing experts out there trying to find out how to increase your traffic as well, and we’d like to share some of those priceless little nuggets of information with you right here.

The type of content that gets interaction on your Facebook page may be different than someone else, it really all depends on your industry, your niche, and how your customers engage with one another and information in general.  However there are some good ways that have proven to pretty much increase your traffic across the board, and you can measure what works for you by using Facebook Insights.

Thesedays you can’t simply get away with how many “Likes” that you have on your page to increase your traffic, now Facebook has a new feature called “People Talking About” that lets everyone know that visits your page how much interaction that your page is getting.  Don’t worry we’ll give you some good pointers to get your business on the right track to increase your traffic on Facebook.

So we ran across an article by Jeff Bullas on Business2Community, and Jeff decided to test out four different posts to try and discover the best method to increase your traffic on Facebook.  Here were the four posts that he tested:

  4. Infographics

Here are Jeff’s findings on how to increase your traffic to Facebook.  His results may surprise you:

  3. Blog post with a reach of 808 (Google+ Growth Explodes)
  4. Quote with a reach of 808 – Steve Jobs exhortation to his staff and engineers to build not just good but “insanely great” products. “We’re here to put a dent in the universe“

2. Increase Your Traffic | Top Four Facebook Updates for “Engaged Users”

  1. Photo with 52 engaged users
  2. Blog post with 37 engaged viewers – 6 Fabulous Facebook Marketing Infographics
  3. Blog post with 36 engaged users – 11 New Twitter Facts, Figures and Growth Statistics plus [INFOGRAPHIC]

It was also interesting to note that the photo still ranked in the the top 8 in this measurement!

What should be also considered is that I have only posted one photo and 3 quotes to Facebook, so this little experiment was rather revealing about the power of  quotes and photos for sharing and interaction.
