Tips to Create a Rave with Social Media Marketing Worldwide

Well, the dictionary defines rave as an all-night party or a never ending enthusiasm. What we mean by creating a rave worldwide? We refer to a business or just news that gains immense popularity overnight. Have you noticed the ‘people talking about’ section on the left panel of a Facebook page? Yes, this is what social media rave is, and it is very important. You can have a million fans liking your Facebook page, but how many are talking about it today? This number can reach to thousand or even millions through social media marketing efforts.

Who would not like to create a worldwide rave? Whether it is big brands, small and medium businesses, celebrities and media houses, everyone is trying to tap the potential of the inexpensive social media marketing to create a rave. Many people dream of it, some get it accidentally while others try to create it.

Gone are the days when you had to spend lots of money or call a press conference or make a raunchy remark in public to get the limelight. A single tweet can travel the world in few seconds. So is the power of the Internet, or specifically of social media. What makes social media so powerful is the participation of the users. The top websites over the Internet today like Facebook, Youtube, and Wikipedia etc are those in which the content is provided by the users themselves. They generate the content and share it amongst themselves.

Hence, if I find something interesting, I will share it with my friends and if something is interesting or important enough, it travels around the world in no time. It spreads like virus infection from one person to other and this process is called ‘going viral’. The good news is that Viral Marketing and Social Media Marketing are processes and can very well be controlled.

Here are some quick tips for you to get an idea of how to do this.

– Don’t go overboard bragging about your product. Rather generate something that is interesting or entertaining. If you want to connect at all to your product, talk about their problems and solutions to their problems. Very much like in real life, people like it when you talk about them. They are least interested in someone who keeps talking about himself or herself all the time.

– Don’t use old fashioned techniques to promote your product. There was a time, when you needed to push products to the customers. Today, you need to pull the customers to the product and the old marketing tactics only irritate the potential customers.

– Help and share. Content which is for fans only can never go viral. Make it public and let everyone use it. Forget that it was ever yours. You created it to share and to help.

– Be connected. Go where your people are and do what they do. Relate to them and connect to them in their style. This is what makes them like and share what you say.

– Use all your sales skills that urge the people to share your content. Do not write about your product but whatever you write make it compelling, interesting and fun.

– Social media is all about listening and creating friendships. Listening skill is important even in relatively passive mediums like the internet. See what they are interested in. Ask questions and take feedback. This will keep the current friends or fans glued and they will be prone to share your content.

– Behind every successful endeavor today, there is a huge network. To have a huge network of real fans and followers, you need to build the right relationships. There is no point in having one thousand spammer Twitter accounts following each other. It looks good in numbers but is not of any value. It’s time we look beyond numbers and learn to calculate and analyze the health and strength of a social network differently. There are some good social media monitoring tools which can help you in this.

– Use social media tools, but do not rely on them. Be human and add that human touch to your social media presence. People love you when they know you are like them.

-And most importantly, do not spam. Don’t schedule more than three updates at the same time. It annoys your fans.

All in all, just behave like a nice human being and you can be popular like one. It does not take a genius to create a social media rave. It just takes a smart considerate human, who wants to share something to share it with the entire world.
