Influencers on Google+

Influencers on Google+

Let’s talk about influencers on Google+ If you’ve already mastered the art of business on Facebook or Twitter, then you already know its not necessarily the number of followers you have but the influence your followers have.  With that in mind, how do you go about finding influencers on Google+ and add them to your Circles?  Well TheNextWeb narrowed down 10 ways to find influencers on Google+ and we’d like to summarize it a little more, because we know you want the cut and dry.

Influencers on Google+ | 10 Rules

Finding influencers on Google+ seems like a task seeing how the platform has only been open to the general public for, well, one day!  However you’ll be surprised at the number of resources already at your fingertips, you just didn’t know they were there, until now.

  1. Circle Sundays – You may already be somewhat familiar with Twitter’s Follow Fridays, but if you’re not let me explain.  Twitter’s Follow Fridays gave recommendations on who to follow on Twitter.  Well now we have Circle Sundays, and with over a 140 character limit, there are some good recommendations for influencers on Google+ to add.
  2. Recommended UsersNow here’s an amazing site for finding hand-selected influencers on Google+ and the best part is that all of the influencers are separated into categories.  For example you can easily find bloggers, photographers, and marketers, just by selecting the category.
  3. FindPeopleOnPlusThis site is different from Recommended Users, because it finds influencers on Google+ that you may be related to, for example someone in your Alma Mater.
  4. Google+ CounterHere you can not only find people to follow, but you can curate your own lists that others can join as well.  For example maybe you want to create a list called Social Media Experts, you can do that and meet people in the process.
  5. Women of Google+Unfortunately there’s a huge gap between the number of male users and female users on Google+, but this site is your source for female influencers on Google+
  6. Follow Power Users –
    1. “Google+ power users are a great source of recommendations on who to follow, often within specific fields. Robert Scoble has a list of bloggers and journalists which he keeps entirely up-to-date based on users’ actual activity.”
  7. CircleCountIf you’re visual, global, or better yet both, then CircleCount is your friend.  It maps out the biggest influencers on Google+ in the world in a graph.
  8. GPlusRank – GPlusRank lets its users make top 10 lists of their favorite users.  i.e. – Top 10 Photographers
  9. Group.as – Much like GPlusRank, Group.as allows users to create their own top 10 lists, here is where you’ll find a lot of niche categories.
  10. Go To The Source – Chances are your friends are following some members that you may have missed, so check out their Circles and see if you find any that interest you.

Finding Influencers on Google+ | Bottomline

Just like anything else, finding influencers on Google+ is going to take time and patience.  However if you’re a small business marketer you’ll want to go ahead and make lists before the launch of Google+ Pages for business.  Don’t wait for Google+ Pages to launch before taking action or you will be behind your competition.
