Rent movies on Facebook – watch the Real Batman movies

How would you like to become a fan of a movie on Facebook, and then immediately be able to watch the movie?  Warner Bros. and Facebook today began testing a program that would allow you to immediately rent movies on Facebook.  Designed to compete with NetFlix, this program could increase the value of Facebook to its members by letting them rent movies on Facebook.  This is the way it would work:

How to Rent Movies on Facebook

  • If you like a movie, find the fan page on Facebook
  • “Like” the film page
  • Then, for 30 Facebook credits ($3), you will have a 48 hour window to stream the movie.
  • During this 48 hour window to rent movies on Facebook, fans pause, stop, resume, and rewatch the movie as many times as they desire.  All they have to do is log back into Facebook.
  • Fans can also leave any comments about the movie they wish.

Currently, Facebook and Warner Bros. are testing with the Batman flick  “The Dark Night” but Warner Bros. expects to expand the program to other movies and incorporate digital purchases in the “near future.”  How fun would it be to be able to rent movies on Facebook whenever you feel like watching one?
