Google+ is proving to be the fastest growing social network in history to hit the web as it most recently approached 18 million users according to a Mashable article. So we need to start using Google+ like pros and I’d like to share some ways that you can fire through posts and make the most of your Google+ experience. So lets explore some tips and tricks for this new platform so that you’ll be making the most of your Google+ efforts, whether it be for pleasure or business.
Google+ Cheatsheet
I was lucky enough to stumble upon a priceless cheat-sheet originally submitted by a Google+ user by the name of Simon Laustsen, that includes hotkeys, tips, and tricks to help us use Google+ like pros. Here take a look:
So now we can easily use all of the features similar to the ones we loved with Facebook with ease.
Creating a Personal URL with Google+
We all know how easy it is to share our Facebook page URL’s with friends. For the most part, its just a backslash and our usernames, the same is true with Twitter URLs. However the creators at Google+ intentionally give each user a URL as a string of numbers.
Why would they do this? Well, their intentions were to protect you, the user, from being attacked by spammers. You see millions of Google+ accounts are also linked to Gmail accounts, so if they simply put your username at the end of the URL, a spammer or hacker could easily find out your email address and attack your account.
We appreciate this Google+, however if you are planning on marketing yourself or your company on Google+, I’m sure that you’d like a simple URL that you could print on a card or tell to potential customers. That’s where Gplus.to can come in handy. Gplus.to is an application that allows you to create a short URL for your Google+ page. For example your new URL may be Gplus.to/johndoe, which is a heck of a lot easier to remember than a long string of numbers.
Uploading Photos from the Iphone to Google+
In an earlier article, we told you that you would only be able to upload photos directly to Google+ by using an Android phone, well here’s a step by step guide (thanks to Mashable) for uploading using the Iphone as well.
