Foursquare Offers Events Check-ins
Foursquare, the smartphone app that has been letting its users users check in at restaurants, bars and other places, is expanding its services. Now Foursquare offers events check-ins as well. So if your going to a sporting event, concert, or movie, you can check-in on Foursquare and let all of your friends know.

According to HuffingtonPost.com, Foursquare had the following to say about offering Events Check-ins:
Foursquare said it is working with ESPN, movietickets.com and concert tracking site Songkick to add event details to venues. Now, if you check in to a movie theatre, for example, you will see a list of movies playing. This way you can check in to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” or “The Smurfs” instead of just the theater… Foursquare is planning to add “hundreds of thousands” of events at more than 50,000 venues in the next few months, the New York-based company said in the blog post. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/18/foursquare-events-check-in_n_930828.html
I don’t know that I’d want to admit to all my friends on Foursquare that I was watching the Smurfs on a Friday night, but you get the point. Users of Foursquare haven’t been able to create events inside venues.
