Ron Paul on Facebook

Ron Paul on Facebook is second in popularity only to President Obama, he is blowing the other Republican’s out of the water when it comes to social media presence and popularity.  Thats not to say that some other politicians don’t have a larger fan count, however social media is all about influence and reach, this is why Ron Paul on Facebook leads the competition.  We can learn quite a lot about social media marketing by taking a look at Ron Paul’s social media campaign strategy it might be just what we need to boost our Klout!

Ron Paul on Facebook | 1st Social Primary

Speaking of Ron Paul on Facebook and his great popularity, this year America held its first ever social primary.  This isn’t through speculation either, this is through heavy analysis of each candidates reach across social media sites.  Take a look for yourself, MarketWatch reports on Ron Paul on Facebook:

A new study from consultancy Sociagility suggests that Ron Paul is using social media most effectively to support his Presidential candidacy. The study also shows a close correlation between candidates’ social media profiles and voting intention, in Iowa and nationally, making this the first ever ‘social primary’.

Sociagility analyzed the popularity, receptiveness, interaction, network reach and trust of candidates across different social media channels using its PRINT(TM) methodology, which is normally applied to commercial brands. Ron Paul’s campaign website and YouTube channel, and Newt Gingrich’s Twitter and Facebook profiles, proved the most effective. Paul achieved the best interaction, network and trust scores, while Gingrich’s social media presence demonstrated the highest level of receptiveness.

So obviously Ron Paul on Facebook knows has some great copywriters and media that attracts shares and likes.  Some things that I noticed about Ron Paul’s posts were that they always had a call to action, link, and some sort of media, whether it be a video or a picture.  This is very effective posting.  He also makes most of his posts during lunch time or after-dinner hours.  This is a great time to post as there are a lot of Facebook users online and they are much more likely to see these Ron Paul on Facebook posts in their news feed.

Ron Paul on Facebook | The Competition

So another analytics service, SocialBakers, also ran their own social primary and just each candidates “viral reach,” including Ron Paul on Facebook.  So how exactly does one measure “viral reach?”

According to Facebook statistics compiled by analytics service Socialbakers, “viral reach” is the total reach for each candidate’s “likes” and comment multiplied by the average number of Facebook Page “likes” per candidate to provide a comparable number.

Also as we mentioned, Ron Paul on Facebook is second only to President Obama, thats in the “people talking about” category.  If you are unfamiliar with “people talking about” you can read about it on Black Box.  So whose next to Ron Paul on Facebook as far as viral reach?  That would be candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, and Michelle Bachman leads the Republicans for one on one interaction with fans.

Ron Paul on Facebook | Other Social Media Sites

Ron Paul on Facebook is quite effective, but thats not the only trick that Ron Paul has up his sleeve, he also has been really riding the Twitter wave as well on the eve of the Iowa caucus:

Congressman Ron Paul increased his number of followers by 30.05 percent in the month of December, growing by more than 20 percent for the fourth month in a row. Former Senator Rick Santorum grew his followers by 24.69 percent, and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romneywas in third place with 20.40 percent follower growth.

Ron Paul on Facebook | Bottomline

I’m excited to see if social media popularity does in fact mirror American’s voting habits.  This may be the defining tool to predicting our next presidential candidates and if the theory is true than Ron Paul on Facebook points to Ron Paul as our next Republican candidate!
