How to make effective use of your blog's Facebook Page

Your small business may have a blog and its never a bad idea to make a Facebook Page for blog, but some are confused on how to go about doing something like this and whether or not it will be effective in the long run.  We want to solve some problems that you may be coming across such as  as getting people to like your Facebook Page for blog, how to run contests and promotions, and how to put a like box on your blog.

Effective Use of Your Facebook Page for Blog | Put a Like Box on Your Blog

This may seem like a no brainer, but I see this type of mistake more frequently than I should. The key when it comes to encouraging people to engage your blog with social media is to make it as easy as possible for them. Don’t expect people to go out of their way to search for your site’s page on Facebook. Rather you should add a like box to your blog, preferably in the sidebar. This enables visitors to not only easily like your page but also see updates you’ve posted to the page and if any of their friends have already liked it.

Effective Use of Your Blog’s Facebook Page |Run a Contest or Promotion

When someone likes your blog’s page, it gives you the ability to put your content in their newsfeed whenever you have new posts. The problem is getting people to like the page. One way to do this would be to include your Facebook page as part of a promotion or contest. For example, if you are a tech blog then you could run a contest giveaway for an iPad or a Kindle Fire. As part of the contest you can require liking the Facebook page as a condition for being entered into the contest. Though their like won’t be genuine it still lets you put content on their newsfeed meaning there is a better chance of them reading your content and becoming a frequent visitor.

Effective Use of Your Blog’s Facebook Page |Use an Enhancement Service

Now when I say enhancement service I am talking about internet tools that let you customize your Facebook page. An example of this would be Pagemodo, which provides you with a customizable tab for your Facebook page. With it you can have a much more colorful page as well as the added benefit of being able to have links, pictures, and videos all on a page. Some of Pagemodo’s features are free, but others require payment. Regardless a custom Facebook page will look much more appealing to visitors and likely be much more interactive and functional. Pagemodo is only one example of this though as there are plenty of services that offer custom Facebook templates.

The suggestions I’ve made are just a few ways you can make good use of your blog’s Facebook page, but there are sure to be many more creative ways you can implement it as well.
