You can now communicate with your company’s followers on LinkedIn in a more relevant manner, thanks to the release of the new LinkedIn Targeted Status Update.  The new targeted status update now lets you deliver highly relevant content to the right followers.  To target, simply click on the ‘Add Followers‘ button below the ‘share an update‘ box and choose the ‘targeted audience‘ feature.

In the box that then appears, you can choose to exclude employees in your company by checking or unchecking the appropriate box in the ‘include’ drop down option on the bottom right.

Next, you can target the update by company size.  You are able to choose up to 10 different ranges for company size.  You may also target by clicking on the following tabs on the top of the box:

  • Industry
  • Function
  • Seniority
  • Geography

Targets who match your criteria will then see your company updates on their homepage as the update will also be visible to anyone who visits your company homepage on LinkedIn.

Engagement and Impression data  will now be available within 24 hours after posting as well, thus giving you the opportunity to see how your posts are performing.  In addition, you can click on ‘Follower Statistic’ to view your dashboard so you can tell what your followers find engaging and hone your message accordingly.
